Leo Grünert, born on November 17, 1997, is a trained image and sound media designer.
Nine years ago, together with two friends, he began painting and customizing clothing such as T-shirts, pants, shoes and jackets under the name “LØ Designer”. Over time, each of the three developed their own artistic direction and experimented with new styles and forms of expression.
The name “LØ” comes from Norwegian and colloquially means ‘bad’ or “ugly”.
Kai eventually found his passion in tattooing, Tom trained as a carpenter, and Leo discovered the canvas as his place of artistic expression in 2019. As their paths in art increasingly diverged, Leo adopted the name “LØ” in honor as his artist name - a name he still uses to sign almost every one of his works today.
For Leo, art is an incomparable form of communication. At the easel, he succeeds in expressing snapshots of his feelings and thoughts. Every person who looks at his works is thus given the opportunity to grasp this personal moment and interpret it in an individual way.
What someone thinks or feels when they look at his works remains open - and for Leo, this is precisely part of the magic of art.
